Alt Appreciation #MonkWeek

The new kid on the Alt block., she’s still leveling, but she’s in her 80’s. Shu is Mandarin for Book (at least according to the online translator). So she’s sort of Book Book. I really like the class design philosophy. It’s like Rogue 2.0.

Daily Journal:

Still no Porcuette or Darkmoon Eye from the bags today. Did 2nd, 3rd, & 4th LFR for Book plus did the battleground Barrens quest line (hey 200 VP). Bunch of Scenarios & the back 3 LFRs. Got another Mini Mindslayer so it will be on the Earthen Ring Alliance auction House soon. No luck in Karazan. Book got Wizard of Oz. Serpentshrine Caverns got her a Tideskipper. No luck in Tempest Keep either.

Done today

updated my add ons, SexyMap, BattlePetCount & TradeSkillMaster_Crafting.

Shammybook – inscription research. Glyph of Chaining

Hunterbook – leather working research. Crafted Dreadful Gladiator’s Ironskin Gloves. Some AH checking.

Shubook – daily monk quest. AH posting of previous mined ore.

Shepardbook – queued for Pinnacle of Storms LFR. Tabbed out & missed the first queue pop. Queued up again, but went to kill a rare on Isle of Thunder and joined a mage to kill it cause I forgot I was queued until we had the guy dead. >.< Then sat in Queue for 28 minutes without a pop… Got my farming done. Planted more Songbell Seeds.  After about 20 min on 2nd try got a pop. Got nothing but Gold even with lucky coin rolls. Did Terrace of Endless Spring. Got Watersoul Signet, Belt of Embodied Terror, & the tier token for my headpiece.

Guy came from Chesapeake Gas to fix my gas for my heat.

Tier 13 Fashionista — Death Knights

Finally a month behind the times we get to see what the Tier 13 DK looks like. It apparently had to go back because the first design did not come out well. I can only think that the first design was absolutely horrid, because this is a step up to “meh.” The title is “Necrotic Bone” and what can I say about that being an ICU nurse? Need more black… I’m beginning to think that no one in Blizzard’s art world picks up a medical photo book. There’s bone there, but it’s not necrotic. The official blog states they were trying to downplay the use of skulls. Well if you ignore the belt & the helm then they succeeded.

What’s going on with the purple & the green? Ugly if you ask me. The blue set is ruined by the brown section even though it got the blue glow to match the rest of the set. The red got the fiery glow to match that set as well.

You know? The more I look at it I go from “meh, I don’t care” to “Ugh, ugly.” Oh well, Tier 10 Transmog.

Tier 13 Fashionista — The Rogues

As my personal main being a rogue I’ll start here. I’ve been very vocal about the Kindergarten seamstress work. If you zoom in there are leather creases which I’m cool with & leather is a hard one it seems to me for people to replicate the texture of leather. I like that it looks like leather, but I don’t like seeing the seams.

The lower one is what I’m calling the red version. It was what was previewed on the official Blizzard site. I dislike this one with a passion. The seams assault my eyes. It also seems too…. bright. We’re a stealth class. The poison green shoulders are… interesting. Are we going for Christmas colors here?

The middle one (aka the green version) is kinda grown on me. It’s a bit of a bright green. The main thing that I think of with rogues that are green are the poisons. The leather doesn’t look quite so much like real leather with the green set, but the grey stitching doesn’t assault my eyes quite so much. The gold glow of the shoulders seem to work with the green much better than the red version.

The blue version (the one on top) is the one I’m partial too. It still suffers from the horrible stitching. As with the green it’s a little bit of a bright color & the leather doesn’t look like real leather as much as the red version, but put all together it’s still my favorite. I almost expect blue shoulders to breath frost bolts out on occasion.

I’m a little disappointed there wasn’t a black version, but with what we’ve learned about the legendary daggers I think that might have been skirting DC comic’s intellectual property a little too much. I was thinking maybe a navy, but we didn’t really get any dark tones for rogues this tier.
